Farallon Geographics, an OpenGeo partner, developed a secure, web-based solution for the San Francisco Enterprise Addressing System using open source geospatial technology—including PostGIS, GeoServer, and OpenLayers.
Farallon has developed and deployed an authoritative, centralized database of building addresses for use throughout city government. This Enterprise Addressing System (EAS) will reduce errors and prevent duplicative effort by enabling all city departments to access address data from a single location. The secure, web-based EAS solution will incorporate the geospatial location of addresses, allowing address points to integrate with other georeferenced data such as and the city's street centerline network, Assessor parcels, and census information. Spatial capability also enables the EAS to intelligently apply business logic and spatial validation rules to automatically maintain the integrity of the system.
