Geo-Thinking to Provide OpenGeo Suite Support for Colombia, Ecuador and Panama

Bogota, Colombia & New York, NY, 10-28-2011 — Geo-Thinking S A S, an influential South American geospatial service company, and OpenGeo, the technology innovator behind the OpenGeo Suite, have announced a partnership that will bring the OpenGeo Suite Enterprise Edition to Colombia, Ecuador and Panama.

Geo-Thinking will assume the first line of support for the OpenGeo Suite within the region. Of the announcement, Rocío Vega of Geo-Thinking said, "Latin America needs to use their resources more efficiently. Open source applications - and specifically the OpenGeo Suite - offer a compelling way to reduce traditional software licensing costs while expanding functionality. The OpenGeo Suite offers an open source geospatial platform for serving maps and data through web applications, mobile devices, and desktop clients. The OpenGeo Suite Enterprise Edition is comprised of tested, integrated and supported geospatial components GeoServer, OpenLayers, GeoWebCache, PostGIS, and GeoExt. These components are being widely adopted for a range of web mapping applications.
